When and Where?

Elementary

Each week at 816kids elementary students will learn about God and His plan through songs, dramas, shows, games, and activities. We take a hands on interactive approach, conveying the message of the gospel and building spiritual foundation. Kids have the opportunity to learn about and experience God just as adults do, but in a more age appropriate setting. Camps and events fill the year providing fun activities that will develop their relationships with God and others.

What To Expect

 Please check in the main children's check in area located in the foyer of the fellowship hall.  Please provide us with a cell phone number that you have in your possession.  In the event we need to contact you during service, we will send you a text message.  (Remember to leave your cellular phone on vibrate/silence during the service.)  If you don't have a cell phone or text services available then you will be given a number that will appear on the screen of you need to be called.  Children will have fun and learn about God's love through games, lessons, songs, activities, projects, videos, skits, outside activity time, (weather permitting) and so much more.  

 

A Look Inside This Quarter
This quarter we are teaming up as Jr. Detectives with the FAITH CASE.  These interactive lessons help kids study and learn some of the fundamental truths of our faith.  The kids join along with the detective team in learning foundational lessons such as: The truth of the bible and Why Jesus Came. Come join us as we sleuth our way through God’s plan and how we fit in.

As A Parent
We ask every parent to follow the following checklist every time a preschool child is brought in.   
• Please do not bring any toys, game systems, or cell phones
• Provide a jacket for outside time
• Pick up and return the security id for your child
• Make sure we have current information on any 816kids paperwork
*we do ask parents who attend on a regular basis if they would volunteer for a rotational 816kids staff slot. 

Health And Safety
In order to insure the safety and health of other children and workers, we do ask that you please refrain from bringing your child if he/she has had any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours: 
Diarrhea
Vomiting
Fever
Rash
Open sores
Excessive Runny nose 
Or any serious condition that is a concern that has not been discussed with your doctor that could be transferred to others.  No medication will be given to any child. Parents should report any allergies at check-in.
816kids has many opportunities for you to put your faith into action. By investing in a child you are investing into the future and sending the gospel wherever he or she goes. From greeters to setup crews, teachers to helpers there is a position that fits you. Q. How old does my child have to be to start attending the Elementary?
A.

Our Elementary Program hosts children from 3 years old to 5 years old. It is recommended that children be potty trained prior to attending. We do not diaper preschoolers If you child needs to be changed you will be asked to come change them.

Q. How will you contact me if my child needs me?
A. If your child becomes inconsolable or unwell, a note on the bottom of the main screen will display your child’s security code. If your child’s number appears on the monitor, please return to the room where you dropped him or her off.

Q. How does 816kids keep parents involved in their child’s experience at church?
A. We believe the best way for parents to be involved in what their child is learning is to become a part of the team that teaches your child. Each week, volunteers do everything from greeting families to teaching and leading kids in worship.
